Welcome to Boogie Night dance camp in Tampere, Finland! The camp takes place on 27th December 2007 to 1st of January 2008.

The whole camp is arranged within one big building called Hervannan vapaa-aikakeskus (Hervanta leisure centre). There are several halls for lessons, cafeteria for breakfast and dinner, and small class rooms for accommodation. Also evening parties take place in the same building.

In Boogie Night we have altogether 6 days of lessons that are divided to 2 day periods.

First two periods include boogie woogie and lindy hop lessons. In registration form it is asked which ones you prefer, but you can still choose between the lessons at the camp site. In the third period you need to choose between boogie woogie and balboa, and stick to the choice for all the lessons.

As teachers we have 4 international couples and also several Finnish teachers. Teaching is mainly in english.

There will be around 4 hours of teaching each day and some tasters (bonbons) for several subjects.

There will be audition for 3-6 groups (balboa 2 groups) at the beginning of each period. The group selection is done by couples and each couple needs to participate for all of the three auditions, if taking 6 days lessons. Beginners lessons are available only in the second period (29th-30th Dec).

You can have floor level accommodate at the camp site. We will provide you mattresses, but you need to bring your own blankets, pillows and sheets. Accommodation at the camp site costs 5 euros/person/night. If you want higher quality accommodation, the nearest hotel is Hotel Hermica (about one kilometer from the camp site).

You can get breakfast and dinner from the camp site. There is also cafeteria from which you can buy snacks during the day. Dinner is served after the classes. There are two alternatives for the dinner: soup & salad and square meal (for hungry ones). During the registration you need to choose which one you will have and stick in the choice.

Early bird registration needs to be done before 12th of November. Early bird fees for the lessons:
6 days 150 euros
4 days 125 euros
2 days 70 euros
juniors (under 17 years) 70 euros (lessons during first 3 days)

Registration fees from 12th November onwards:
6 days 165 euros
4 days 140 euros
2 days 85 euros
juniors (under 17 years) 85 euros (lessons during first 3 days)
beginners (2 days) 50 euros

Registration is done via registration form. We will accept registrations only by leader and follower together, both need to register at the same time.

Last date for registration is 10th of December, or when the camp is full. If there still is room, we'll take registrations also after 10th Dec, but there will be 10 euros extra fee for the late registration.

We will have 5 awsome evening parties during the camp.

On Saturday 29th there will be rock'n'swing dances Grand Prix competition. There will be classes for boogie woogie, lindy hop, bugg, rock'n'roll and fusku. There will also be team competition (5 couples in a team, dances will be drawn out of the hat) and Svengikingi competition, where one couple does 5 different dances in a row. To this competition there will be separate registration fee for participants, registrations are also done separately from the camp registration.

On Sunday we will have lindy hop competition called Night Swing Jam (NSJ). This competition is more about having fun and great show than competing. The competition will take place during the evening parties, there will also be a band playing live music. The main prize is free participation to Como dance camp in June 2008 for a couple. The main prize is given to one participating couple by drawing a lot. Registrations to this competition can be done at the camp site during the camp.

Thursday- Aprés X-mas
It's Christmastime! Everybody's dressed in red and dancing like crazy to melt all the Christmas ham and chocolates. The climax of Thursday night is the annual Battle of DJ's, which city is going to win this year?

Friday - Boogie wonderland
Boogie fever is catching! Live music by authentic rock'n'roll band Flamin' Star.

Saturday - Competition
Grand prix competition arranged by Swing Team. See the best competition couples on stage. Dancing continues after the Competition to wee hours.

Sunday - Night Swing Jam
Partying continues. On Sunday night we get to dance to live music. There is also a world premiere of Night Swing Jam, the ultimately funniest swing competition.

Monday - Cabaret night
