Tampere is a big city by Finnish standards, but with almost 210,000 inhabitants, Tampere still manages to feel like a small town. In the centre, everything is within walking distance. Google map.

Workshop will be held at Swing Team's clubhouse located in Hakametsä about 3 km from the Tampere city center.

The premises include four dance studios, a spacious lobby with a kitchen-cafe corner, dressing rooms, restrooms and storerooms.

Showers and floor level accommodation possibilities are provided.

How to get there?

Air travel

Tampere is situated some 170 km north of Helsinki. You may choose to fly to either to Helsinki or to Tampere – often Helsinki flights are somewhat cheaper.

Helsinki has flight connections to all major cities in Europe. Tampere has direct flight connections with Stockholm, Copenhagen, Riga, London, Dublin, Frankfurt, Bremen, and Milan.

There is a frequent bus service from Helsinki airport to Tampere city centre. Check the bus timetable. The bus trip takes approximately two - two and a half hours and costs approximately 24 euros.

Tampere Airport is located at Pirkkala, 17 kilometers from the city centre. There is a bus connection from airport to Tampere city centre, that costs 4 euros 10 cents, please see the timetable.

You can also take a shuttle bus either to the nearby railway stations of Tikkurila or Helsinki. From both, there is an hourly train to the centre of Tampere. Check the train timetable. The train trip takes approximately 1,5 hours.

Train connections

The railway station in Tampere is located in the heart of the city, at the eastern end of Hämeenkatu, the main street. To and from Helsinki, there is a train every hour, during rush hours even more frequently. VR Ltd Finnish Railways

By local transport:

Our dance studio Swintti is located in address: Sammon valtatie 10 (please note, that the entrance is from Harankatu 3).

There is frequent and inexpensive public transport network in Tampere region based mostly on buses. From city centre, buses 17, 25 and 27 travel right past the dance studio. Single ticket costs 2 euros and can be bought from the bus driver (single ticket = "kertalippu" in Finnish).
