Parties

The parties are the heart and soul of the lindy camp. We will have three nights with live music for your pleasure and joy. The nights are each different, but united by soulful swing rhythm, which takes us deep into the heart of lindy and swing.

Music – the key to party and dancing

Music and dancing are too often distant from one another – compared to the fact that back in the day, it was always live music. In this event, we want to promote the co-operation of dancers and musicians.

We will have a house band consisting of musicians, who are keen to play not only to the dancers, but with the dancers. A direct quote from one of our musicians:
”I think a lot of good always come out of musicians and dancers getting together – quite a rare things these days – but ESSENTIAl to music and dancing in my opinion!”

We will probably discuss a lot of dancing and a lot of music during the four days &ndash and learn from each other.

The house band will consist of artists, who have played in Too Dumb To Die, and will have several guests, especially from swing band Sweet Jeena and Her Lazy Lions. Probably we will also have a couple of dancers playing, singing – and breathing the music both in the band stand in addition to the dancefloor.

Friday – everyone dances

The opening party! The music has some boomchakka, when our musical companions from the UK, Estonia and Finland jam and swing! Dancing is essential – if there is something spontaneous coming up from the participants, we will be with it 100 %. You don't need to get far for this party - they are in our club house Swintti, where all the classes are held as well.

Saturday – sauna it is!

Tea dancing and Sauna party – look forward for relaxed atmosphere, discussion, food, some live music every now and then (unplugged and juicy!), some dancing. Get to know your dancing friends in this informal event, and ask the others about any dancing questions! The sauna premises are located in the same building than all the classes.

Sunday – get out, get in the groove

Swing night at restaurant Tanssitalo in the Tampere City Centre. Local and far away swing friends gather together for the dance party. Note: the English translation of the restaurant name: House of dancing!

Monday

After the classes, we will have dinner at a restaurant. Relaxing and spontaneous being together, swing music and – of course – some dancing.
