TeachingTeachers | Schedule | Participation Teachers are from Germany, Lithuania and Finland. Lindy Hop Beginners Starting on Saturday Jan 2nd we offer an amazing opportunity to get soaked into Swing in Lindy Hop Beginners course. Also advanced dancers are warmly welcome to these lessons to help beginners to get their first impressions of swing dancing! Class Description In Lindy Hop classes dancers are in three groups according to their experience for the most of the time. The groups are Beginner-Intermediate (for people, who have danced for less time or for longer time and with less training), Intermediate-Advanced (for people, who really can dance Lindy Hop already and have mostly been dancing regularly for years with plenty of training and dancing) and Advanced (for the extremely experienced real enthusiasts of Lindy Hop). There are also some shared lesson and some optional topics that you can choose from. The content of the Lindy Hop classes are the higlights of our teachers: the best they have to offer, served to you! You can see the topics of the optional classes in the timetable, and the rest of the classes build on the fundamentals of Lindy Hop, offering some new movements and also enabling you to improve your technique. You learn to dance by dancing, so we aim at a lot of music and rhythm in the classes. Teachers
Egle Regelskis and Martynas Stonyswww.lindydance.lt/aboutus.html Egle and Martynas are simply in love with jazz, mad about swing music, and best at expressing ourselves through dance. Lindy hop is the thing that takes and sustains them through life. Being familiar with the dance floor from childhood, they tried ballroom and folk dance, but once they came across Lindy Hop, it completely took them. It was in 2004 when they discovered Lindy Hop, and a few years later – together as dancing partners – they started making jazz choreographies, giving performances, participating in various events and promoting Swing Culture.
Katja Uckerman and Ali TaghaviMost people know Ali as a pragmatic person who loves to try and apply new ideas. Often these ideas are based on his interest areas such as science, psychology, stand up comedy or one of my many educational audio-books. From living the vintage life style to living on the vintage dance, the swing dance era has brought Katja a lifetime of joy and happiness. First, she fell in love with the clothes and the hair do’s. Dancing and teaching all across the globe gave Katja the opportunity to share her knowledge about the vintage style, helping the girls to make their hair like in the old movies. For Katja and Ali it's all about swing dancing. They are actually bursting swing. They say that their passion and goal is to spread swing dancing, both in Germany and around the world. That’s why they are running several online activities, blogs, discussion groups, free instructional videos that cover all aspects of the life of a dancer.
Minna Marttila and Aleksis Nokso-KoivistoMinna and Aleksis don't really need an introduction, if you ask the most Finnish dancers. Even others than swing dancers come up with this joyful and energetic couple. Swing is their thing: rhythm and partner connection. Taking their classes is all about challenging yourself to feel yourself and your partner.
Anni HeikkinenAnni is that bright light and winding fresh air that strikes you in the classroom. You see it, you feel it, you love it! And you come back for it time after time. Anni is up from Northern Finland and she's a dance teacher graduate from Oulu Polytechnic. In Anni's classes you'll concentrate on partner work and attentive dancing with your partner. As a teacher Anni is very strict but also very motivating - her goal is to teach Dancing. Anni will be assisted by Aki Luoma. MORE BALBOA!
Sanna and AdamSanna and Adam love to dance. They've been dancing balboa, lindy hop, solo jazz and other dances for many years. Sometimes they manage to do these dances on the same dance floor, mainly in Boston, Massachusetts and Tampere, Pirkanmaa.
