Parties
The parties are the heart and soul of the lindy camp. We will have three nights with good live music for your pleasure and joy. Each night is different, but united by soulful swing rhythm, which takes us deep into the heart of lindy and swing.
Entrance fee for all the parties is included to the camp fee. If you are not participating to the camp, but want to come to the party, you can purchase a party pass (40 euros). Purchase your party pass with the registration form below!

Music – the key to party and dancing
Music and dancing are too often distant from one another – compared to the fact that back in the day, it was always live music. In this event, we want to promote the co-operation of dancers and musicians.
We will have a house band consisting of musicians, who are keen to play not only to the dancers, but with the dancers. A direct quote from one of our musicians: "I think a lot of good always come out of musicians and dancers getting together – quite a rare things these days – but ESSENTIAL to music and dancing in my opinion!"
We will probably discuss a lot of dancing and a lot of music during the four days – and learn from each other.
The house band will consist of artists, who have played in Too Dumb To Die and played in several swing dance events, and will have several guests. Probably we will also have a couple of dancers playing, singing – and breathing the music both in the band stand in addition to the dancefloor.
Thursday – pre-party
You can get your first swings out from the pre-party on Thursday evening at Tempo. We will have info desk there and you can already sign in to the camp during the evening. Pre-party on Thursday is your first possibility to buy our marvellous camp T-shirt! There is only a limited number of those, so be there early to make sure you get one.
Friday – dance party at the sauna
The Friday party is situated in a nice place by the lake - We call it the sauna party because of the sauna opportunity, but essentially it is a dance party! Last year several people were telling us, that the sauna party was the best dance party of the camp - and some told it was the best ever. Maybe it is because of the relaxing effect of the sauna, or just the friendly atmosphere - who knows! Probably just some smaller share of people go to sauna, and most just dance and party hard, but if you have not tried sauna or not tried the TSE sauna by the lake, this is your opportunity.
At the start of the party, at 19.00 there's a shared dinner together with all the dancers - we can get to know each other while eating, before the dance. The dinner includes an Afghan buffet, and to balance, an extremely Finnish dessert! This year the sauna and shared dinner is in the first camp night - the reason is, that we want to get to know each other from the very beginning. Be there early, this is the opportunity to eat together with very reasonable price - before we start to dance.
As camp participant, you may come somewhat later (after 20.00) and not purchase the dinner - but after all, who would like to miss the dinner? Please note, that the registration for the dinner is binding, i.e. we order the food based on registrations, and everybody registering pays and eats! No cancellations, sorry.
Registration to Friday buffet closed!
The address is Hatanpäänkatu 6. The place is owned by a rowing club and it's located right next to one of the big lakes in Tampere. There is a couple of kilometres walking distance from the city centre, or you can easily take a bus. Feel the heat of the sauna or dance your night away. If you want to try the sauna, please take your own towel with you.
Dinner buffet from camp participants 10 euros. Entrance fee for others is 20 euros including the buffet. Party pass includes also the buffet.
Saturday night fever!
On Saturday we are dancing in the very heart of Tampere! And while not dancing, you can buy drinks from the bar and just enjoy the athmosphere of one of the the most well known Finnish places, Tammerkoski rapids - a waterfall, which has hosted mills since 15th century.
The party takes place in restaurant Tempo, which is a very well known swing dance place for Swing Team members. This time we will widen the area reserved for dancing and take some new areas to use to ensure that we all fit in and have room to dance!
The place is situated in the city centre, walking distance from the camp venue.
When: the party starts at 21, and band starts at 22. Tempo is open already before 21, so you may come for a drink even before!

Sunday – get out, get in the groove
Swing night in the Tampere city centre, in restaurant Laterna - a stylish restaurant with Jugend mileu. Laterna is also the home of several dance parties, swing dance and several other dances - you name it.
This is the last night of the whole camp - some are probably leaving early evening on Monday - so it's time to say ALL IN, and see what we have learned!

When: the party starts and Laterna opens at 21, and band plays from 22.

Monday
After the classes, we will have dinner at a restaurant. Relaxing and spontaneous being together, swing music and – of course – some dancing.
