Jenny Sowden & Dan Repsch
Dan & Jenny are both full-time international dance instructors traveling to share the joy of dance. They've won many competitions around the US both separately and together in Lindy Hop and Blues. Dan & Jenny have found themselves teaching together with ease throughout events with a focus on musicality, fine movement detail, and play between partners.
Dan is immersed in the music and the movement. He constantly travels to continue learning, happily sharing his ideas along the way. In his teaching, Dan’s enthusiastic approach brings a focus on innovation, connection, and attention to your partner. Dan is also a veteran DJ, spinning for events locally and across continents on a weekly basis, and has dabbled in organizing for events and local dances. In the end, Dan is most excited to push his own dancing and to see his students break through their boundaries.
Jenny, based in NYC, is also a DJ and Director of nycBABBLE.com and Brooklyn Swings. Jenny has been training in dance for 25 years and teaching for 20 years, with a BA in Dance and Theater from San Diego State University. She is trained in 34 different styles of movement including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, West African, Capoeira, Aikido, Tango, Salsa, Lindy hop, Balboa, and Blues. Her background influences her teaching and general style through musicality, variation, expression, and an understanding of body mechanics. Jenny believes the dance floor is a 'World of Yes' where we accept and are inspired. In turn we take classes in a 'World of Intention' to expand our 'World of Yes.' Check out more at jennysowden.com
Dan & Jenny’s general vibe is uber playful; just watch them dance! They like to challenge and play with their students, sharing both classic and new approaches while keeping one’s own unique style.
Ulla Ritamäki
Ulla Ritamäki is a swing dance enthusiast from Finland. She has been dancing since 1998 and teaching her favorite dance styles such as Lindy Hop, Blues, Collegiate Shag, Authentic Jazz, Tap, 20's Charleston, Balboa and Argentine Tango during the years. She has been choreographing, as well as performing and competing. Ulla has attended European Lindy, Balboa and Blues workshops on invitational level, and visits Buenos Aires regularly for Argentine Tango.
Initially Ulla started to dance Blues in 2000 in Herräng, and after too many years of craving for that dance she started to build Blues scene in Tampere in 2013. So far Ulla has taught Blues in Istanbul, Uppsala, Copenhagen and Finland, on her own or with partners like Adam LaMontagne (USA), Shorty George (USA), Tomasz Przytycki (POL) or Klaus Honko (FIN).
The most important things in dancing for Ulla are musicality, connection and emotion, which she wants to emphasize and pass on in her dancing and teaching. Listening to each other, having fun, improvising and following the music and intuition describes her thoughts of a perfect dance.
Motto: Dance like nobody is watching.
"Ulla is an extremely talented and technically founded blues dancer. The concepts she introduces are equally suitable for advanced and will forever change the way you dance blues." - Theis Egeberg, Resident blues teacher Copenhagen
Juha & Sabina Jordan
Juha and Sabina are well-known for their energetic, warm and friendly classes. They focus on basic techniques, but their main approach to Lindy hop happens through the rhythm of the music. Lindy hop changed their lives and now they wish to share this wonderful experience with all fellow dancers.
